Morning sun breaking over forested mountains above the rapids of the Gauley River

About us

Named for the river. Built for the businesses around it.

The Gauley River earns its reputation the honest way — big water, no shortcuts, and guides who know every line through it. That felt like the right name for how we want to do this work.

The idea

Great local businesses deserve great websites.

Southern West Virginia is full of businesses people drive hours for — outfitters, cooks, makers, builders. But too many of them are invisible online, stuck with a site from 2012 or no site at all, while out-of-town chains scoop up the searches.

The Gauley exists to fix that. We bring the kind of web design and search work usually reserved for big-city agencies to the businesses of the New River Gorge region — at small-business prices, with a neighbor’s handshake instead of a sales funnel.

We’re new, and we’re not pretending otherwise. What we can show you is how we work: this site, our process, and a conversation where you’ll learn something useful whether you hire us or not.

How we work

What you can count on

Straight talk

No jargon, no padded invoices, no “proprietary growth frameworks.” We tell you what we’re doing, why, and what it costs — in plain English.

Small by design

You work directly with the person building your site, not an account manager relaying messages to a team you’ll never meet.

Craft over volume

We’d rather do fewer projects well than run a website mill. Every site gets built like it has our name on it — because it does.

Rooted in the Gorge

We live here, paddle here, and eat at the same restaurants we build sites for. When the Gorge’s businesses win, so does the whole valley.

Come say hello.
